  New terminology? “Donations in Support of Kingdom Interests Worldwide”

  petra/atlantis recently posted and supplied a document on donations.

  what stood out to me, besides the usual nonsense, was the phrase, “donations in support of kingdom interests worldwide.”.

  this appears to be a change in terminology from donations in support of the “worldwide work of jehovah’s witnesses.”.

  Petra/Atlantis recently posted and supplied a document on donations. What stood out to me, besides the usual nonsense, was the phrase, “Donations in Support of Kingdom Interests Worldwide.”

  This appears to be a change in terminology from donations in support of the “Worldwide Work of Jehovah’s Witnesses.”

  Perhaps that’s because there’s no actual work being done...but there has to be some underlying reason. Any thoughts?

  so i was observing an online conversation between a jw and a former-jw.

  the non-jw pointed out that wwi cant have had anything to do with satan supposedly being "cast out of heaven" because wwi was already well under way in oct 1914.. the jw proceeds to explain that satan was actually thrown down to the earth in 1915 and that he started to wreak havock on the earth from heaven knowing he was about to be cast out.. so 1914 is officially old light now?

  does anyone have a source for that or was this brother lying through his teeth?.

  While it's all non-sense, 1914 is important because it is calculated from the (incorrect) 607 BCE date for the fall of Jerusalem, which ultimately gets them to the most important year, 1919, with the appointment of the Faithful Slave/Governing Body. Their self-proclaimed authority is dependent on this incredibly weak thread.

But how do we react when God’s organization makes a change that affects other aspects of our life? For example, in recent years the cost of building and maintaining places of worship has increased dramatically. So the Governing Body has directed that Kingdom Halls be used to capacity. As a result of this adjustment, congregations have been merged and some Kingdom Halls have been sold. The funds are being used to help build halls in areas that need them the most. If you live in an area where halls are being sold and congregations are being merged, you may find it a challenge to adapt to the new circumstances. Some publishers now have to travel farther to attend meetings. Others who worked hard to build or maintain a Kingdom Hall may wonder why that hall is now being sold.   Baptism during Covid - pool must tough the ground?

  the july 2020 announcements mentions that baptism can be held in an “inflatable pool” as long as it touches the ground.

  the pool must not be “on a terrace, flat roof, balcony, etc.”.

  has anyone ever noticed that as a requirement?.

  My first guess goes to some sort of potential legal liability (since that is usually their first priority). It sounds like they are nervous about inflatable pools in elevated locations...perhaps someone could fall or the pool could get caught by the wind?
